PC/ABS (Polycarbonate / Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene)
PC/ABS
PC/ABS alloys are formed by combining two plastics, resulting in a new material with comprehensive properties. This hybrid material exhibits excellent mechanical properties akin to PC and features good heat resistance, similar to PC. Additionally, it offers the easy formability characteristic of ABS and color stability properties. Furthermore, PC/ABS alloys are resistant to aging, capable of withstanding higher temperatures like ASA, and can produce a shiny finish reminiscent of PET. The mixing ratio of these two plastics influences the heat resistance and flowability of the alloy.
Property
● Excellent mechanical properties
● Easy molding process
● Resistant to deterioration
● Resistant to higher temperatures
● Beautiful shiny surface
● Color stability properties
Application
PC/ABS alloys find extensive application in electrical, medical equipment, and automotive components such as dashboard, door handles, wheel covers, fascia, radiator grills, side mirrors, and more. These alloys can be manufactured into colorful pieces themselves, reducing the need for additional painting processes, a method referred to as Free Spraying Material. Special pigments with light-reflecting properties are utilized, resulting in vibrant and colorful finished products. Nowadays, this type of plastic resin is commonly used in the manufacture of electrical appliances such as hair dryers and vacuum cleaners, as well as in the production of luggage and other consumer goods.
