PPS COMPOUND
PPS (Polyphenylene sulfide)
Polyphenylene (PPS )sulfide is a type of thermoplastic polymer known for its high thermal and mechanical performance, making it suitable for a wide range of applications across various industries, such as precise electronics, electrical devices, chemical containers, automobile and aerospace components, among others.
Property
PPS exhibits excellent thermal stability, good mechanical behavior, anti chemical stability, inflammable nature, etc. PPS is insoluble in almost all organic solvents below 200ºC and is miscible with some organic polymers. Additionally, PPS demonstrates good compatibility with inorganic substances, allowing for the production of reinforced PPS and/or PPS resins as composite materials with various inorganic fillers such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, and others. The properties of PPS resins can be controlled by changing the nature and amount of the filler. For example, adding carbon in different forms (including carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphite, graphene and carbon black) into the PPS matrix allows for the formation of composites with improved mechanical properties and multiple functionalities. The addition of carbon fillers can significantly enhance the mechanical properties, tribological properties, post-fire structural integrity and electrical/thermal conductivity of the PPS blends and composites.
Application
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a high-performance thermoplastic polymer renowned for its excellent thermal and mechanical properties. It is widely utilized across diverse industries, including precision electronics, electrical equipment, chemical containers, automotive components, and aerospace.
